Skateboarding in New York City has always come with a unique set of challenges: rough ground, large sidewalk cracks, poor skatepark design, industry isolation, etc. While many outside of the sport identify skateboarding as a Californian phenomenon, there has always been an internal respect for the professionals, brands and tastemakers who push around Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and the BX.
